One you’ve ascertained your starting point you’d need to start shooting the bow with good form to finetune your draw length.
Look at the movement of your pin/dot on the target over time, and take note of the characteristics thereof:
- Short
- Crisp, jumpy movements in the sight pin.
- Compressed form:
- a high shoulder, either front or back.
- exaggerated bend in the front arm.
- Elbow coming away from the line of force to the front of the archer, sometimes causing a bent wrist.
- Head moving forward to meet the string
- Long
- Uncontrollable slow floating of the sight pin.
- Expanded form:
- lack of expansion room & the front arm is sometimes hit by the string.
- reaching with the bow hand.
- Elbow tucked away behind the head.
- Anchor point drifting backwards
